I am starting a project using the Sony HVRZ1 in DV-NTSC 16:9 mode. Unfortunately I can't work in HD this time because of my limited time and facilities - My Problem: I made a testshoot and reviewed it directly from the DV Cam on a new professional Pioneer 42inch plasma monitor. The result is rather demotivating as the picture has horizontal stripe artifacts that are subtle but not acceptable in the end. Now I wonder if shooting on DV-NTSC aiming at showing the footage on 42inch plasma monitors makes sense. Am I doing something wrong, or is it just the rather low quality of the DV-NTSC codec?
