    Question GBA Backups?

    Hi!

I've really got into my GBA micro recently but have worries that if i lose a game, i'll have to restart from the beginning after hunting down another copy (advance wars 2 - im looking at you here!)

can anyone recommend a backup system that will let me backup only the carts i own so i can play the copies, leaving the originals at home? i need to be able to backup the saves too, so i wont have to start afresh if i lose it.

    cheers!

btw - gameboy micro is only 31 quid at choisesuk.co.uk, using the code SALE10 (i've just bought a backup gba micro!!)

(sorry if this has been asked before - i had a quick look but the threads it got back were old - was wondering if any new kit had been released)

i dont think theres any way to get the save off your original GBA cart, You can buy a GBA flashcard or supercard style device that will let you play games off an SD card but you would have to start the games from the beggining and forget your original cart.

ah fair enough. would the flash carts be able to save onto themselves? (do games that are backed up from originals need some sort of patching, or will they just work as normal on the flashcard?)

    (thanks for the fast response!)

Flash carts should all be able to save onto themselves. Patching is done by the transfer software automatically so you don't have to worry about the type of save your original cart uses.

I would recommend getting something like a M3 adapter or G6 flash for GBA backups.
