GP2X WIZ new handheld

Was browsing around the net and this new handheld console has caught my eye, its called the GP2X wiz. I think it'll be my next technological purchase.

Its a small handheld with 533mhz arm9 processor and runs a modified version of linux. It seems to be geared around people creating their own games as well as porting games to it (i've seen quake 2 ported for the old version). It comes with an sdk as well which is good. The only thing missing is network connectivity. I think there is a lot of homebrew kicking about for the GP2X none wiz version which has been out for a while.

Yeah am very tempted to grab one (would be rude not to considering i have a Gp32 + gp2x already ) of these myself, but was really disappointed with the controller on the gp2x so going to wait for a few reviews first to see if they fixed it.

yeah i did read a review but it was very short and hadn't been tested properly yet. I can't find it for some reason but when I do i'll update the post.

What sort of games are available to the old one then? is it worth buying since I already have a nintendo ds?

I don't like the non-removable battery in the Wiz. The GP2X had poor battery life but at least you could put new batteries in it when it died. With the new Wiz, once it dies you are stuffed until you can recharge it. So no good for long plane flights for example.

Basically the games are all crap The best thing about it is all the emulators etc., nothing beats playing bubble bobble on the bog
